Save up to 30% on Energy Efficient Windows and Doors with the new Federal Tax Credit Program
Savings for Homeowners
New federal income tax credits are available through 2032 providing up to $3,200 annually to lower the cost of energy efficient home upgrades by up to 30 percent. Improvements such as installing Energy Star rated doors and windows, are covered by the tax credits and can help families save money on their monthly energy bills for years to come.
Installing ENERGY STAR certified windows, doors, and skylights can shrink energy bills – and carbon footprints – by an average of 12 percent nationwide, compared to non-certified products. For typical homes, choosing ENERGY STAR can save on average*:
• $101-$583 and 1,006- 6,205 pounds of CO2 which is equivalent to 51 to 317 gallons of gasoline a year when replacing single-pane windows.
• $27-$197 and 246-2,001 pounds of CO2 which is equivalent to 13 to 102 gallons of gasoline a year when replacing double-pane, clear glass windows.
*Ranges are based on the average savings among homes in modeled cities. Actual savings will vary based on local climate conditions, utility rates, and individual home characteristics.
Simply put, energy efficiency means using less energy to get the same job done – and in the process, cutting energy bills and reducing pollution. Many products, homes, and buildings use more energy than they actually need, through inefficiencies and energy waste. Energy efficiency is one of the easiest ways to eliminate energy waste and lower energy costs. It is also one of the most cost-effective ways to combat climate change, clean the air we breathe and help families meet their budgets. Look for the Energy Star label when researching new windows and doors for your home.
